AAIM Divests Its First Nebraska Facility
AAIM Data Centers has completed the sale of Nebraska 1, its 15 MW facility, to a privately held company. Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
Nebraska 1 was our first project in the state. Land was secured in 2023, the facility was energized in 2024, and it has run as a stable, fully utilized site since.
Selling a good asset on purpose
Divesting a facility that works is a strange thing to announce, so it is worth being direct about the reasoning. We are a developer and an operator. The value we add is concentrated in the years between securing power and reaching steady-state operation — siting, engineering, construction, commissioning, and the first stretch of running the building.
Once a site is mature and fully leased, that value has largely been realised. Selling it to an owner who wants exactly that — a completed, operating, income-producing facility — returns capital we can put behind the next development, where the same team creates far more value per dollar.
Where the capital is going
Proceeds are being reinvested in our Minnesota and Missouri pipeline: expansion at Blue Earth, additional Minnesota sites, and continued build-out in Missouri.
Construction continues at our second Nebraska facility near Hastings, in partnership with Southern Power Public District, and is unaffected by this transaction. Clients at all other AAIM facilities see no change to capacity, staffing, or operations.
