AAIM Secures an Additional 80 MW at Minnesota 1
AAIM Data Centers has secured an additional 80 MW of capacity with its existing utility partner at Blue Earth, Minnesota. The agreement underpins a major expansion of Minnesota 1 — our flagship site — and takes the campus from a 15 MW colocation facility to one of the largest high-density compute developments in the region.
Built on an existing relationship
This capacity was not won by going out to market. It came from the utility relationship we have been building since we first energized at Blue Earth, and from an operating record the utility could examine directly: a facility on their network, running their power, staffed by our own people.
That matters more than it might sound. Power is the long pole in every data center project. Securing 80 MW with a partner who already knows how we operate removes the single largest source of schedule risk from a development of this size.
A Tier III design, in progress
The expansion is being designed to Tier III standards — concurrently maintainable power and cooling, so any component in the distribution path can be taken out of service without dropping client load. As with every AAIM site, it is being engineered in-house: the team drawing it is the team that will build it and the team that will run it.

The site plan shows how that redundancy is laid out: two substations and two medium-voltage rooms feeding the building along independent paths, N+1 generation with an above-ground double-wall fuel tank, and a data hall built for liquid-to-chip cooling with no hot or cold aisle.
The project is in active design today, targeted for Q3 2027.
